The Equality Act 2010 places a duty on public bodies to 'eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity, and foster good relations' for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people.

Supporting young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered students can be a mine field for some schools. Also challenging homophobic language in schools continues to be a real issue for teachers.
