About Us
Since 1979 we have worked throughout North Essex to meet the needs of gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered individuals. Formally known as Colchester Gay Switchboard we have been previously well known for providing telephone support. Whilst we continue to offer this needed service we have along the way developed how our organisation can best support the people it intends to.
From our building in Colchester, The Outhouse, we provide a range of services to cater for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people. We also work in school's helping tackling the very real issue of homophobic bullying. Along side of this work we try and help other organisations and professionals in shaping their services to meet the needs of the LGBT community within Essex.
Many of our front line services are run by volunteers. Without the support of volunteers we simply would not survive. If you wish to get more involved in the work we do please visit our volunteer page.
